The Fishtown Players is proud to present a premiere production of THE ALEXA QUARTET written and directed by Jay DiPrima. THE ALEXA QUARTET is four ten minute plays in one based upon the iconic Alexa AI Amazon device that dwells in many households. What is she doing there? Well at first glance she is there to help us answer questions, gather information, play our favorite music but we also find out that she is so much more – especially for these four unique older adults. She is our companion, our memory, our home aid and our watchdog – friendly, sometimes annoying and possibly insidious. The QUARTET explores all of these capacities in a humorous, yet provocative evening of theatre.
Featured as a staged reading in the Fronterra Festival of Austin, finalist of the Epiphanies Playwright Festival via zoom (2020); the play has yet to find its feet on the stage!
