A hilarious staged reading of A Christmas Twist in collaboration with the Cape Ann Cinema of Gloucester.
Tickets only $15! There will also be a large Raffle for Cape Ann Cinema movie tickets.
The Fishtown Players produced The Seafarer by Conor McPherson to great acclaim last April at the Gorton’s Theater. The Fishtown Players is a consortium of producing members who will be performing a “twist” on the traditional Dickens Christmas Carol entitled A Christmas Twist.
A Christmas Twist, originally developed by the Illegitimate Players of Chicago (Second city improv performers), is a comic parody and zany morph of Dickens Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist. Billed as a “very funny satire of Dickensian excesses about Christmas and poor people and the rich people who don’t care about them;” it jams plot elements from these several sources into one unlikely but hilarious story. It is a perfect lighthearted adultified entry into a Dickensian Christmas served up with mulled wine, Christmas goodies, and live music in this cozy living-room style digital theater.
A Christmas Twist CastThis staged reading with full costumed characters, sound and visual effects is more than a reading – involving seasoned actors in plenty of farcical action and stage business. Local actors from The Seafarer’s cast such as Michael McNamara, David Adams, Jay DiPrima, Rory O’Connor along with Nicole Scola, Tina Greel, Morgan Bertolino, Nicole Bauke and Nick Neyeloff will twist this holiday delight to life.
A slide show of a recent rehersal is available on the GMG blog
